All content on the AAIML platform, including articles, playbooks, toolkits, case studies, and research reports, is owned by AAIML or the contributing authors. You may use AAIML content for your own professional development. You may not reproduce or distribute it commercially without written permission. Brief quotations with attribution are permitted.
8. AAIML Approved program
AAIML Approved is a vendor-review program in which products are evaluated against six published standards. AAIML Approved is an opinion of AAIML and its board, not a warranty or guarantee, and does not constitute professional advice. You are responsible for your own evaluation of any product before purchasing or deploying it.
9. Affiliated products
AAIML is an initiative of Root Partners. Root Partners produces other products, including Citro, that may be eligible for AAIML Approved review. Decisions about AAIML Approved listings involving Root Partners-affiliated products are made by the independent AAIML board, applying the same standards as for any other product. Affiliated listings are clearly marked in the public directory.
If you redeem a member offer from an affiliated product, your relationship with that product is governed by the product’s own terms and privacy policy.
10. No professional advice
Content on the AAIML platform is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the platform constitutes legal, financial, accounting, tax, or other professional advice, and you should not act or refrain from acting based on AAIML content without consulting an appropriately qualified professional.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The platform and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AAIML does not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content is complete, accurate, or current.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AAIML, Root Partners, and their respective officers, directors, employees, board members, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. AAIML’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid AAIML in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold AAIML and Root Partners harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your breach of these terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for any violation of these terms or for any reason in our discretion, with or without notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting membersupport@aaiml.org. If your account is terminated, your right to access the platform ends immediately, but provisions that by their nature survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 15) will continue to apply.
15. Dispute resolution and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the platform will be resolved in the state or federal courts serving Allegan County, Michigan, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify active members by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
